- Show the handout – List of Literary Devices to the students.
- Briefly discuss the importance of literary devices in storytelling and how they enhance the reader’s experience.
- Exploring Literary Devices (15 minutes):
- Select one literary device from the handout (e.g., foreshadowing) and write it on the whiteboard or chart paper.
- Define the literary device and provide an example from the handout.
- Engage the students in a brief discussion about the purpose and effect of the literary device.
- Ask students to think of their examples of the literary device and share them with the class.
- Repeat the process for each literary device on the handout, allowing students to participate and share their ideas.
- Applying Literary Devices (30 minutes):
- Divide the students into small groups.
- Assign each group a specific literary device from the handout.
- Instruct the groups to create a short narrative or paragraph using the assigned literary device or use the story available in the notes section.
- Circulate among the groups, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Once the groups have completed their narratives, ask them to read their work aloud to the class.
