What is CaL?
City as Lab is a Project-Based Learning Program for schools across India.
CaL provides a platform for school children to conduct original and authentic inquiry projects about the cities they live in.
CaL is founded with the belief that every student’s voice is important!

A Student’s Journey Through CaL
Registration Details
- Registration is open to all Indian schools, NGOs and educational institutions.
- Students in grades VI – XI can participate in the program.
- Minimum number of students per school: 4
- Schools must nominate mentor-teachers to guide students through their projects. 1 teacher can work with upto 20 students
- Mentor-teachers must guide students through the specific steps provided by CaL to complete their projects.
- Milestones must be met as per given deadlines and feedback provided by the CaL team must be incorporated into revisions.
- ALL DECISIONS BY THE CaL TEAM REGARDING PROJECTS SELECTED FOR THE CONFERENCE ARE FINAL AND NON-NEGOTIABLE.
- A small registration fee per student is applicable.

Important Registration Details
- All students who complete and submit their final projects will receive a DIGITAL Certificate of Completion. Schools may print and distribute these.
- Certificates of Excellence will ONLY be awarded to students who attend the conference in person and stay the whole day. If selected students cannot attend or leave half-way, they will not receive this certificate.
